The Chameleon, Birmingham

After a long summer of intense shifts at work and my looming departure back up north, my sister and I decided it was about time we went on another grand shopping adventure, so hopped on a train to Birmingham.

With all shopping adventures comes a ravenous sense of hunger and fatigue, cured only by a stonking big lunch.

The Chameleon in Birmingham is a beautiful, grand building, serving as a restaurant in the day and donning its gladrags to become a stylish bar after dark.

We were escorted to our table by the charming waitresses, threw down our many shopping bags and set to work scouring the vast menus

Eventually we made our decisions; marinated olives served with rustic bread, balsamic and olive oil for me

And the Chameleon Prawn and Lobster Cocktail for Jen

Jumbo prawns and Lobster tail in a Bloody Mary sauce, served with Melba toast.

(Which she managed to knock over, thus coating the restaurant’s fluffy carpet in Bloody Mary sauce causing us to both erupt into peals of laughter… can’t take her anywhere!)

The menu is absolutely bursting with mouth watering offerings, from steaks to duck to monkfish.

Buuuuuuut there were also burgers on the menu, so I went for those.. oops.

Cajun Chicken Breast Burger, served with lime mayo and crispy fries.

Absolutely stuffed, we skipped puds and sloped back out onto the street to empty our purses a little more…
